While Canada’s government challenges the country’s Bitcoin community in a significant new review, confidence shows no signing of being dented with innovative growth coming on apace.

The newest addition to the Bitcoin scene in Canada, payment integration merchant BIGbtc.ca, is hoping to reach out to new demographics by hosting novel events to spread knowledge about using Bitcoin on the ground.

The events, dubbed “Are You A BitCurious About Bitcoin ‘Shindigs,’” consist of food and drink receptions at well-known eateries in Canada and the USA, at which company figures and experts are on hand to provide information to prospective and curious businesses.

“We have wine, we have beer, we have appetizers, we have Industry Experts to mingle with Merchants who have questions about how to transact Bitcoin legally, securely, efficiently and profitably,” Founder and CEO Brett Russell said in a press release.

The restaurant-based format of the outreach program underscores Russell’s behind-the-scenes talks with “large restaurant chains” in both countries with regard to Bitcoin POS integration with BIGbtc, something which, if successfully agreed, holds quite some potential for disruption.

To this end, Russell needs to create quite some impression. “We are using quality events, at quality restaurants, to attract quality merchants to our quality service,” he continues.

Promotion on the evening will take the form of Bitcoin wallets attached to attendees’ name tags, which will be used to award one merchant with US$100 in BTC on each occasion.

The events are due to start later this month with an inaugural meeting at Joey Restaurant in the company’s native Toronto, while the USA dates will begin in Florida in December.
