A new NFT collection is driven by Egyptian mythology — and has bold ambitions to be at the heart of an immortal world.

Immortal Cat has been inspired by Anubis — one of the most iconic deities in Ancient Egypt — the god of mummification and the afterlife, and the patron god of lost souls.

A total of 2,266 NFTs form part of this collection, and they've been carefully separated into five distinctive species: Wisdom, Art, Genesis, Magic and Smith.

The type of species determines the rewards that collectors may receive through staking.

As they were created, artists extracted characteristics from "the 300 greatest historical figures in human history."

Not only are Immortal Cats designed to have a unique aesthetic, but they're set to form a brand-new civilization.

A new ecosystem will bring together breeding games, a marketplace for secondary sales, postcards, and a presence in the metaverse.

ETH message cards also enable users to mint nonfungible tokens with a bespoke message that can then be sent to any wallet address — creating a new form of communication.

A global team

A social hub is going to be established in the metaverse, and Immortal Cat's founders say their roadmap is constantly evolving in line with changes to the market.

The project has centred its offering on giving value to stakeholders in the long term — and offering much more than NFTs, games and airdrops.

Immortal Cat's team is mainly based in California, with some partners found in China and Singapore. The project hopes that its NFT collection will also enjoy global appeal, and an official page has now been added on OpenSea, the world's largest marketplace.

The project was founded by Raymond, a self-declared NFT enthusiast who describes himself as a "senior blockchain investor" and the mastermind of a multitude of DeFi and GameFi projects.

Meanwhile, the artist for Immortal Cats is Yazzie — who is said to have created the intellectual property for many big names.

Looking ahead, the project plans to create a studios arm and initiate other NFT collections as well.

With a detailed plan in place and plenty to look forward to, the Immortal Cat team are feline confident.
