Dark Web News

What is the dark web? The dark web exists as a concealed internet realm that facilitates illegal activities, such as drug sales. Certain tools are needed to access the dark web. One generally cannot explore the dark web using regular internet browsers.

Cryptocurrency has been used as dark web money at times. Between 2011 and 2013, a now-infamous online shop on the dark web called Silk Road let users buy and sell things — primarily items of questionable legality — with Bitcoin (BTC) as its method of payment. A number of other dark web stories involve the use of Bitcoin.

Although Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies have been used in tandem with shady dealings on the dark web, the crypto industry has built up more of a reputation as a legitimate industry as time has passed since Bitcoin’s launch in 2009.
