The city will allow taxpayers to make crypto payments through third-party service providers.

The crypto exchange previously announced the acquisition of blockchain infrastructure platform Bison Trails as well as the Routefire platform.

A Brazilian newspaper, Estadão, reported that Coinbase could complete the acquisition of $2.2 billion 2TM, the company behind Mercado Bitcoin, by April.

Supporting this cause led by Mayor Eduardo Paes, Binance CEO announced a new office in the Brazilian city, stating that “He‘s done his part. We are working on ours.”

The penalties are part of a new piece of legislation that also regulates crypto trading and payments.
