Biography:

Bart Stephens is a co-founder and managing partner of Blockchain Capital, the earliest and most active VC firm investing exclusively in the blockchain technology sector and the first to raise a venture fund through an initial coin offering. Stephens has 20 years of experience as both an operating entrepreneur and a venture capitalist. Prior to Blockchain Capital, Stephens was a managing partner and co-founder of Stephens Investment Management, a family-owned and -operated hedge fund and venture capital firm. His professional background also includes executive positions at companies such as E-Trade Financial Corporation, Oncology.com and Ivanhoe Capital.

Blockchain Capital has had a busy year investing in a range of blockchain startups, having led a $25 million round for blockchain infrastructure firm Bison Trails, a $40 million round for custody service Anchorage, and a $4.2 million round for crypto risk-management platform TRM Labs. The firm also published a survey on Bitcoin awareness, which estimated that 11% of Americans own BTC.
