“Any one single trader could manually play the market. So we have to be on top of this. To make sure that nobody can come to the platform and try to crash the market or whatever.“

Biography:

Andy Cheung is a senior executive who has worked widely in the blockchain industry across the Asia-Pacific region. He has experience working with multinational corporations such as RR Donnelley Financials and Pacific Century CyberWorks, as well as tech companies such as Huawei, Alibaba, Baidu, and Groupon.

After leaving OKEx in December 2019, Cheung is now the founder and chairman of ACDX, a derivatives crypto exchange, and also the co-founder and CEO of BitWork, a blockchain consultancy. He speaks English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Afrikaans, and holds a bachelor's degree in information technology.

Andy Cheung's 2019:

In late October, OKEx announced its partnership with Klaytn, a global public blockchain platform developed by Ground X, a subsidiary of South Korean internet giant Kakao. In November, OKEx launched Bitcoin futures contracts margined with the Tether (USDT) stablecoin.

Later that month, the exchange announced a partnership with hardware wallet Ledger, Vietnam-based OTC exchange Aliniex, and blockchain-based retailer Cryptomall to expand the reach and usage of the OKEx exchange utility token, OKB. Cheung left OKEx at the close of the year to start a blockchain consultancy team.

What Cointelegraph expects for 2020:

After departing OKEx, Cheung’s efforts will go to expanding his new blockchain consultancy firm and taking on new clientele, which shouldn’t prove too much of a challenge given his track record and network in the Asia-Pacific region.
