Crypto is an attack on the dollar in the same way that lifeboats were an attack on the Titanic.

Biography:

Cobie is a prominent pseudonymous figure on crypto Twitter as well as in the broader crypto sector. He changed his Twitter name and handle in 2021, previously going by the name “Crypto Cobain.”

A portion of crypto sector users operate under pseudonyms — a practice dating back to the industry’s very beginning, with the inventor (or inventors) of Bitcoin working under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto. Under his real name, Jordan Fish, Cobie spent time working on customer growth for Monzo — a banking-focused entity. In addition to his experience as a professional musician, Fish’s job history also includes employment at multiple startups.

Cobie posts a notable amount of content on Twitter, giving insights that are often wrapped in his own brand of humor. Cobie knows a considerable amount about the crypto industry. He has amassed over half a million followers on Twitter, and boasts the elusive blue verification checkmark on the platform. In addition to Twitter, Cobie writes blog posts and co-hosts a podcast called UpOnly: Chats with Crypto Experts.

Cobie’s 2021:

Looking at Cobie’s Twitter feed from 2021 reveals a bustling year for the popular crypto name. His tweets on the platform largely related to crypto but he sometimes weighed in on other topics. Rather than posting charts or trading education, Cobie’s style is focused more around commentary on the crypto industry and other current affairs. During 2021, Cobie’s Twitter feed included standalone tweets, threads and retweets with comments — all through which he added his own insights and humor. His time and experience in the crypto industry seems to have given Cobie a wealth of knowledge as the base for his humor and commentary.

The list of episodes for the UpOnly podcast indicates that Cobie began co-hosting the show with Brian Krogsgard (aka “Ledger Status” on Twitter) in early 2021. Over the course of the year, the podcast covered a broad range of crypto industry topics, such as nonfungible tokens, trading and decentralized finance. UpOnly hosted a large collection of crypto players as guests, with the show typically headlining episodes around the interviewees. The show hosted Mark Cuban for an interview in 2021, who was perhaps the biggest mainstream guest of the year.

Cobie’s 2022:

Cobie’s 2022 could look much the same as his year played out in 2021, with the addition of his blog that he added around the middle of last year. His Twitter feed may logically continue as the base of content and activity for Cobie in 2022, as was seemingly the case in 2021. Will Cobie hit a million Twitter followers in 2022? Crypto and world events will likely continue spurring his commentary on the platform, which is expected to be just as exquisite and sarcastic as ever.

The UpOnly podcast also appears promising for continued content with Cobie as a co-host, and his blog may be the home of continued written material from the crypto veteran. In early 2022, the UpOnly podcast hosted Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin as a guest, and announced several other prominent crypto figures to appear later on in the year.
