What are Gala Games (GALA) and how do they work?

Gala Games’ ERC-20 token GALA is used in Gala’s ecosystem. Put simply, Gala is a company behind an ecosystem including games that incorporate blockchain-based assets, such as nonfungible tokens (NFTs). 

What makes Gala unique? Traditional digital games typically retain control of players’ in-game items, such as weapons, even if the players buy the items. Gala’s ecosystem of games uses blockchain-based assets to give players actual ownership of their in-game items and the ability to transfer or sell those items to other people or use them in other compatible games.

To help it run, the Gala ecosystem relies largely on purchasable Founder’s Nodes, with the ultimate Founder’s Node count capped at 50,000 nodes. Founder’s Nodes earn GALA, with the potential to also earn NFTs. Founder’s Nodes determine aspects of the Gala ecosystem via voting. Gala’s ecosystem also includes other types of nodes for other purposes, but Founder’s Nodes are the main core of the ecosystem.
