The program, called Launchpad Luna, aims to discover, incubate and fund promising blockchain and nonfungible token (NFT) startups that are helping to shape the future of Web3 — also known as the metaverse.
Launchpad Luna, as a facilitator for ecosystem growth, welcomes NFT innovation in the fields of culture, fashion, art, entertainment, media, gaming, streaming, collectibles, insurance, finance, data management and more to stimulate the digitalization of the biggest consumer-oriented industries.
In a sea of more than 3,000 applicants and a highly competitive environment, Another-1 was selected for its innovation, creativity and transparency.
Of the cohort’s 33 startups, Another-1 is one of the few with a focus on fashion and metaverse applications. Another-1 joins the Brinc family to accelerate humanity’s transition to a more sustainable, inclusive and equitable future by repurposing fashion for metaverse interoperability to bypass the limitations of physical collections.
As the metaverse rapidly expands, so does the need for fashion and wardrobe choices in virtual spaces. However, most digital fashion is limited to a single game or platform due to a lack of interoperability. Another-1’s vision is to power the metaverse’s economy by making “phygital” — something that bridges the physical and digital worlds — fashion truly borderless and accessible to all.
Another-1’s first endeavor in this direction is a collaborative project with Swappable called NTR1 Meta, for which it joined forces with some of the hottest Web3 projects to create the world’s first Italian phygital NFT sneaker collection.
The collection is limited to 5,555 sneakers and lets NFT holders flaunt them as digital wearables in Decentraland, trade them on Swappable or any other secondary marketplace, or wear the sneakers in real life after burning the NFT.
The Another-1 team has a wealth of experience in the fashion, metaverse and blockchain industries. The team is led by CEO Marco Staglianò, former head of operations for Angel Vest, a prolific network of angel investors, and a fanatic sneakerhead.
