MetaSoccer is the most recent venture of Champion Games, a renowned game studio founded six years ago by Marc Cercós, Àlex Fiestas and Patxi Barrios. Already dubbed the “Axie Infinity of soccer,” MetaSoccer is the world’s first soccer game playable within the metaverse where players get to experience a real-life soccer environment by managing their clubs, finding new players or placing bets on games in a play-to-earn (P2E) model.
What makes MetaSoccer Unique?
MetaSoccer arrives at the crypto gaming industry as a well-devised and differentiated project that combines blockchain gaming, decentralized finance, sports betting and, of course, football.
The game is based on four main pillars:
- Find — youth scouts are sent to explore the ecosystem and look for potential players.

Ultimately, we aspire for the next Messi to be born in the metaverse and play on a platform like ours.”
Being a P2E game, MetaSoccer has different types of nonfungible token (NFT) assets, namely Youth Scouts, Players and Stadiums, all of which are securely and procedurally based on the ERC-721 standard.
In order to best mimic the real-life sport, the assets evolve, which means that both NFT Youth Scouts and Players age with time and eventually retire.
The P2E model followed by MetaSoccer is a successful one that brought hundreds of millions of active players to Axie Infinity. Earnings received by players take the form of MetaSoccer Universe (MSU) tokens that require any of the following:
- Winning official matches against other users or artificial intelligence during a friendly match.
- Selling NFT players searched for and found by Youth Scouts.
- Gaining sponsorship and merchandising income.
MSU holders get to enjoy special benefits, such as involvement in the governance process of MetaSoccer, being able to test the newest features, and having access to exclusive NFT releases as they occur.
Backed by top-notch crypto-specialized funds
In a recent round of financing, MetaSoccer raised $2.3 million, with contributions from highly regarded international funds, such as Play Ventures, DeFiance Capital, ParaFi Capital, DAO Maker, Kyros Ventures and Metrix Capital.
The project also benefits from the advice of specialized companies in the sector, such as ATH21 and Polygon, and is supported by well-known streamers and YouTubers, namely Willyrex, Reven and KManuS88. According to KManuS88, “MetaSoccer has three key points to be the next milestone in the world of blockchain gaming: It is the first football metaverse with unique characteristics; it has a new economic model based on the token bonding curve that brings stability to the token; and as a studio, they have over six years of experience in developing video games.”
Inaugural seed strong holder offering (SHO) on DAO Maker and NFT sale
MetaSoccer issued 72 million MSU during its private sale, and a total of 18 million was issued during its public sale, reflecting the buzz that’s being generated around the game.
Presently, there is a seed SHO on the DAO Maker scheduled for Dec. 6, offering 2.78% of MetaSoccers’s total supply, or 10 million out of 360 million MSU. The price is set to $0.03 per MSU with an implied fully diluted valuation of $12.6 million. Additionally, there is a Youth Scout NFT drop that will take place on Nov. 25 on the MetaSoccer marketplace.
