Delysium has completed its first private-sale round of more than $4 million, led by Galaxy Interactive, Republic Crypto and Alameda Research, with other investors participating, including Anthos Capital, Eureka Capital, Y2Z Ventures, Tess Ventures, Zonff Partners, Infinity Ventures Crypto, Lucid Blue Ventures, Unix Gaming, Ancient8, PathDAO, Yield Guild Games Southeast Asia, Mask Network, Smart Labs and MetaSense DAO.

As the world’s first playable triple-A massively multiplayer online (MMO) Web3 game, Delysium is currently in accelerated development and expected to go live by the middle of this year.

The funding will mainly be used to support the game production and ecosystem. Delysium aims to launch its alpha and beta versions with a player-versus-player tournament later this year.

The background of Delysium is set in 2045 when human beings discover a marvelous land in the decentralized virtual world. The discovery sparks a battle between the real and the virtual worlds.

In Delysium, digitized humans live with MetaBeings: native residents born in the metaverse. In a series of battles and struggles concerning interests, power and resources, it is entirely up to the player to decide the future of Delysium.

Features such as cyberpunk style, open-world, MMO role-playing and user-generated content will offer abundant gameplay and experience in Delysium. Players can earn loot boxes — tokens, nonfungible tokens, game resources and more — by joining various game modes and selling them in the marketplace or consuming them to upgrade the character’s traits, weapons and clothing in player-versus-environment. They can also craft buildings and create weapons and cyber-bodies.

All physical assets of players in the game, including MetaBeings, virtual creatures, cyber-bodies, weapons, vehicles and environmental objects, can be equipped, combined and upgraded in Delysium through self-crafting or trading. Players can also create narrative assets, including dialogue, behavioral and decision-making models and storylines, missions and other personalized entertainment scenarios.

Compared to the current Web3 gaming industry of turn-based strategy or trading card games, Delysium emphasizes a diversified and triple-A, open-world MMO experience that includes battles, exploration, construction, cultivation, socializing and artificial intelligence (AI) driven MetaBeing gameplay to propel the Web3 gaming industry into the next phase.

Delysium is led by RCT AI, a technology company incubated by Y Combinator.

Yuheng Chan, CEO of RCT AI and Delysium, said, “Thanks to the joint efforts of multiple partners and internal teams, we are working closely to accelerate the development process of Delysium. We believe that Delysium will become a bridge between Web2 and Web3 gamers, and we also aim to have Delysium as an anchor for us to continue exploring the future of Web3 through AI.”
