North Carolina joins the growing list of US states attempting to pass comprehensive digital asset bills as a hedge against inflation.

North Carolina lawmakers have introduced twin bills in the House and Senate which could see up to 5% of crypto assets allocated to state retirement funds.

This week, four different states introduced crypto-related bills, bringing the number of US states to introduce such legislation up to nine in February alone.

The bill limits investments to Bitcoin exchange-traded products only but includes various state funds such as pensions and insurance.

The Bitcoiners will focus on “overlooked” communities in western North Carolina that have received little state or federal support and remain cut off from life-saving supplies.
