Retail sportsbooks across the state saw $12.5 million worth of wagers in September.
Sports betting revenue in Arizona was $77.4 million in September. That included $77.1 million from mobile sportsbooks. Retail sportsbooks collected $342,611 in September 2024. Their revenue more than doubled compared to the $37.4 million in August. Arizona’s betting handle was up 19.9% from the $610.7 million in September 2023. Revenue in September 2023 was $59.7 million.
What Arizona sportsbooks were the most successful in September?
Arizona is home to 13 online sportsbooks. The five leading sportsbooks in the state are DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and Fanatics. They accounted for 89% of the total handle and close to 91% of September’s revenue total. DraftKings had the most wagers in September 2024 with $260.4 million. However, it was FanDuel who led all operators with $27.4 million in revenue.
BetMGM, Caesars, and Fanatics were all in the top five for revenue in September 2024. Despite launching in April 2024, Fanatics Sportsbooks has quickly become a top online sportsbook in the Arizona betting market. Other operators across the state include Bally Bet, bet365, BetRivers, Desert Diamond, ESPN BET, Golden Nugget, Hard Rock Bet, and Sporttrade. All mobile operators in the state are partnered with a professional Arizona sports team or federally recognized tribe. For example, BetMGM operates through a deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
