The Cypriot Bitcoin community has been talking about this for some time, and now it’s finally here: The University of Nicosia in Cyprus has opened up registration for its massive free online open course, “Introduction to Digital Currencies.”

The university already offers a master’s program in digital currencies, but this is the first time the school has made its content freely available online. The course will be taught in English, and it will feature a number of university researchers as well as experts in cryptocurrencies.

Blockchain’s Andreas Antonopoulos, a teaching fellow at the university, is one such expert:

“It is an excellent opportunity for anyone to develop a good understanding of the technical and non-technical aspects of decentralized currencies in general and, more specifically, explore both Bitcoin (the network) and Bitcoin (the currency),” Antonopoulos said.

You can register for course “DFIN-511: Introduction to Digital Currencies” here.

The first class starts May 15.
