Ethereum Community Conference, the largest annual European Ethereum conference created for the community by the community will return for EthCC from July 19 to 22 in Paris, bringing together the top minds in Ethereum to share their vision for the future of the ecosystem post-merge.

“Communities are at the heart of the Web3 ethos. Whatever the economic context, communities are what remains as they strive to ensure an ecosystem survives. EthCC is and will continue to be the perfect place to nurture our community, strengthen ties between us and focus on doing what the Ethereum folks do best: sharing knowledge and building for the future,” said Jerome de Tychey, founder and president of Ethereum France.

Despite the downturn in crypto markets, decentralized autonomous organizations, decentralized finance, the Metaverse, NFTs, play-to-earn gaming and all things Web3 are continuing their rapid ascent to mainstream adoption and making people rethink community, finance and coordination.

“The Web3 ecosystem is at a pivotal point of growth, reaching governments, financial institutions and mainstream audiences. At the forefront of many of these developments is Ethereum, which EthCC has had the privilege of seeing grow from strength to strength. In the fifth year of EthCC, I’m excited to see more applications going beyond crypto native audiences and introducing different focus areas like social impact, sustainability, Web3, social media and legality. We welcome returning friends and new ones to join this next phase of growth,” said Bettina Boon Falleur, head of EthCC.

For the Ethereum community, all eyes have been on the anticipated merge. Set to kick off later this year, the merge will replace the proof-of-work mining protocol with proof-of-stake, allowing a potential energy reduction of 99.95%. But as the ecosystem gets closer to this milestone, builders are looking towards the next wave of blockchain technology that will move beyond DeFi and into new areas including scalability, social good, gaming, privacy and governance.

EthCC will gather over 200 speakers from all around the world with various panels, side events and parties with the goal of sharing and transmitting knowledge from world-renowned blockchain thought leaders.

Headline speakers include Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, Kevin Owocki, founder of Gitcoin, a platform where the world’s leading Web3 projects are born, validated and funded, Eli Ben-Sasson, co-founder of StarkWare, which provides scaling and security solutions for Ethereum and Beth McCarthy, operations and culture lead of Toucan Protocol, a technology that helps people put climate action at the heart of digital transactions.

EthCC will also provide the opportunity for vetted startups to pitch in front of top VCs such as A16z, Sequoia, Framework Ventures, Cygni Labs and BPI through the EthVC program.
