Holo

Holo is a crypto industry project touting Holochain, a peer-to-peer application framework; Holo, a cloud hosting network; and HoloFuel, a digital asset used for compensation within the ecosystem. Arthur Brock and Eric Harris-Braun are the Holo founders. 

What is Holo (HOT)?

The Holo crypto project has multiple components as part of its ecosystem, namely Holo, Holochain and the HoloFuel asset. 

What is Holochain? Holochain is a resource for building decentralized applications (DApps). Wondering how the Holochain framework works? Holochain is an open-source framework and aims to facilitate the creation of peer-to-peer applications that run on users’ devices, forming a network of interacting parties rather than relying on a centralized source. Applications built with the Holochain framework are called Holochain apps (hApps). 

Holo, on the other hand, is a cloud services platform that facilitates interaction between these applications and the traditional internet. This ecosystem utilizes an asset known as HoloFuel. HoloFuel is a currency creators use to pay for hosting their hApp on Holo. HApp hosts on Holo, in turn, earn HoloFuel. The Holo project started out with an ERC-20 token called HoloToken, under the ticker HOT. This asset, however, will be swapped for HoloFuel. According to Holo, HoloFuel is neither a coin nor a token but is still considered a cryptocurrency, or a “crypto-credit.” Therefore, calling HoloFuel the HOT coin is technically inaccurate, as is the same for the original HOT token.
