Crypto Council for Innovation News

The European Parliament is set to establish a new European Commission, and it will determine the next five years of crypto policy for the European Union.

It might come as a surprise if you only follow Congress, but a raft of state measures have shown legislators moving in the right direction on crypto.

The Crypto Council for Innovation, Satoshi Action Fund, Texas Blockchain Council, Paradigm, Lejilex and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce all called on the SEC to establish guidelines.

The Blockchain Association and Crypto Council for Innovation said Hamas had reportedly stopped using Bitcoin, as authorities could more easily track funds.

Crypto Council for Innovation adviser Sean Lee said more education is needed for policymakers and financial regulators.

Linda Jeng will appear as a witness alongside law professor Yesha Yadav and Duke Financial Economics Center policy director Lee Reiners.

“The news this week has been shocking, but we’ve also seen the community come together,” said CCI CEO Sheila Warren.

The new data show crypto ownership is comparable to that of other assets and especially strong among the young; crypto is seen more favorably than banks in some quarters.

Linda Jeng and Brett Quick will be joining the council in support of its policy and regulatory affairs team.

Sheila Warren, CEO of the Crypto Council for Innovation, shared her insights in an interview with Cointelegraph at the World Economic Forum.

Sheila Warren said the addition of Cory Gardner was based on his experience “to build a stronger economy and support innovation,” as well as his commitment to Web3 and crypto.

The crypto exchange declared it spent $120,000 on lobbying activities in the U.S. in the third and fourth quarters of 2021.

CCI board member Fred Ehrsam cited the WEF executive’s “in-depth knowledge of crypto” in addition to her experience working with governments across the globe.

The Crypto Council for Innovation is looking to lead the charge for sensible cryptocurrency regulations around the world.
