The Meta Masters Guild presale has now smashed through the $1.5-million barrier in less than three weeks since it launched.
The crypto world is buzzing with excitement over the new crypto gaming project, which is developing Web3’s first dedicated mobile gaming platform.
Now in Stage 3 and on sale for $0.013 each, the price of MEMAG tokens will increase 23% in Stage 4 to $0.016, which is triggered when it reaches $1.848 million or Jan. 31 — although at the current rate of sale, that is likely to be in the next 48 hours.
Investors who purchase in Stage 3 will have seen the price rise by a total of 76% by the time the presale ends, with the seventh and final presale stage offering MEMAG at $0.023.
“A fully playable version will be released this year”
Three games are currently in development on the platform, and it has now been revealed that Meta Kart Racers is set for release in 2023.
Blockchain games studio Gamearound, which previously created games for billion-dollar fashion brand Boohoo, is developing the title, which will be available on Android and iOS.
Gamearound CEO Gideon Clifton said, “We are excited to announce the development of a fully playable version that will be released later this year.”
“This playable version will feature a free entry-level NFT character and kart, with premium versions available for purchase in our NFT marketplace or unlockable in the game.”
He continued, “Our goal is to revolutionize the mobile gaming community by introducing fun and rewarding play-to-earn (P2E) games, with Meta Kart Racers being the first in the MEMAG launch collection.”
Clifton described the MEMAG partnership as “a landmark moment for Gamearound and blockchain gaming, bringing ground-breaking, fun and enjoyable titles to the global P2E community.”
“At Gamearound, we are building a decentralized future for the good of gaming, and we are all stoked to be part of the MEMAG journey.”
Meta Kart Racers will see players select a driver and kart and drive on fun race tracks in player-vs-player and solo races — there are play-to-earn and free-to-play versions of the game.
The two other games in development are turn-based fantasy fighter Raid NFT and Meta Masters World, an open-world metaverse with little structure where players are free to roam, collect resources, complete missions, and interact with other players.
Mobile gaming brings huge advantages
While mobile gaming is sometimes seen as a lesser medium compared to AAA-rated console or PC gaming, it has several major advantages.
Mobile games are cheaper, easier and quicker to develop and much more profitable and attractive to a wider audience.
In fact, a recent analysis from Newzoo revealed that mobile gaming ($92.2 billion) was worth as much as console ($51.8 billion) and PC gaming ($38.2 billion) combined in 2022 — and will be worth at least $103 billion by 2025.
Meta Masters Guild has also learned from the mistakes of previous crypto-gaming projects that, despite their vast potential, have struggled to retain players.
While some games have been stuck in development hell, others were just plain boring with players not following investors into the space.
MMG is pushing forward with a play-and-earn model over play-to-earn, promising to develop games with a “focus on fun” that are highly replayable, sustainable and attractive to casual players.
MEMAG and GEMS
To further prove its focus is not on tokenization and rewards, MEMAG tokens will not be used for rewards to relieve selling pressure that has sunk other P2E tokens.
Instead, GEMS, a second token that exists off-chain, will be earned by players as a reward for completing objectives and will also be used as the platform’s currency to buy and sell assets.
All assets in the play-and-earn games are 3D nonfungible tokens (NFTs) that are fully ownable and tradeable by players.
GEMS can also be converted to MEMAG.
The tokens will link all the games in the MMG ecosystem, with the project set to have a bustling central marketplace where players are free to trade and upgrade their assets.
How to buy MEMAG tokens
To purchase MEMAG during the presale, buyers should follow these brief steps:
- Step 1 — Download a crypto wallet, such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet.
- Step 2 — Purchase Ether (ETH) or Tether (USDT) from an exchange and transfer to the wallet, or purchase directly on the Meta Masters Guild website.
- Step 3 — Connect to the MMG website and select the “Buy With…” option. Then follow the instructions to complete the purchase — remember to leave a small amount of ETH to cover gas (transaction) fees.
- Step 4 — Claim MEMAG tokens when the presale is finished. They will be stored on the MMG website until then.
