Wall Street, Transaction Fee, RWA

BNB, which saw a new all-time high on Aug. 14, shows strong momentum as a key asset bridging traditional and decentralized finance in 2025 through institutional adoption, the tokenization of real-world assets and its growing utility for low-cost global blockchain infrastructure.

For decades, the financial world has operated in two separate spheres. On one side stood Wall Street, with its regulated markets, institutional capital and legacy infrastructure. On the other was the digital-native economy of crypto, defined by peer-to-peer transactions and decentralized finance (DeFi). The two spoke different languages, and a true bridge between them seemed distant.

That bridge is now being built, with the BNB (BNB) token and its underlying BNB Chain ecosystem emerging as a key piece of connective infrastructure. In 2025, BNB is undergoing a critical transformation, evolving from an exchange token into a multidimensional value asset that connects institutional finance with real-world mainstream adoption.

Wall Street opens the door

A clear sign of this shift is the recent influx of institutional interest. In July, investment firm 10X Capital announced its support from YZi Labs — a venture and incubation firm — to develop the “BNB Treasury Company.”

This independent entity aims to pursue a public listing. It will focus on acquiring and holding BNB, creating a regulated gateway for American institutional and retail investors to gain exposure to the asset.

This move is part of a broader trend of corporate adoption. Several United States-listed companies, including Nano Labs, Windtree and Liminatus Pharma, have initiated BNB treasury strategies, viewing the token as a core reserve asset with reserve targets of up to $1 billion.

The onchain financial supermarket

Beyond institutional funds, BNB Chain is rapidly becoming a core hub for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). In July, Kraken and Backed expanded the xStocks alliance to BNB Chain, launching over 60 tokenized stocks and ETFs — like Tesla, Apple and the S&P 500 — as BEP-20 tokens on the network. This allows users to trade traditional financial assets onchain, 24/7, without the usual market hours or gatekeepers.

The ecosystem’s RWA capabilities were also strengthened when BNB Chain joined financial service provider Ondo Finance’s Global Markets Alliance, a move set to bring Ondo’s full suite of tokenized assets to the network.

Additionally, Circle announced that its interest-bearing stablecoin, US Yield Coin (USYC), will be issued natively, positioning BNB Chain as foundational infrastructure for tokenized traditional assets.

Powering the global Main Street

While Wall Street is plugging into BNB, its growth on Main Street is accelerating. With transaction fees below $0.01 and confirmation times under two seconds, BNB Chain is increasingly used for cross-border payments and remittances in Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America.

The chain’s high performance is the result of significant technical upgrades, including the recent Maxwell hard fork, which lowered fees and halved block times to around 0.75 seconds.

This speed and efficiency, combined with integrations into major e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce and Travala, make BNB Chain ideal for daily use cases like small merchant payments and peer-to-peer commerce.

Looking ahead, the 2025-2026 roadmap aims for even greater scale, with goals to increase the block gas limit to one billion and achieve sub-200ms confirmation times — upgrades designed for financial-scale use cases like stock issuance and global remittance.

A sustained deflationary mechanism supports this entire expansion. In the second quarter of 2025 alone, BNB Chain’s auto-burn feature destroyed approximately $1.02 billion worth of BNB, linking the token’s supply directly to network activity and economic growth.

This growing narrative and strong tokenomics contributed to BNB reaching a new all-time high of $864 on Aug. 14. By serving both institutional and retail needs, BNB is evolving into a unique asset class — one that is building a robust, functional bridge between the old and new financial worlds.
