Cryptocurrencies, Payments, Debit Cards

Backed by major investors, Zebec Network aims to build a real-world financial infrastructure, offering streaming payroll, crypto cards and enterprise tools that bridge Web2 and Web3.

Around the world, billions of workers wait weeks to receive paychecks, navigating a financial system where delayed access to wages remains the norm. This outdated cycle ignores the realities of the gig economy and remote teams, and overlooks the simple truth that money earned should be available immediately.

Crypto was supposed to solve this. But despite its speed and programmability, many blockchain-based payroll and payment solutions remain fragmented, hard to use and disconnected from traditional finance. For global teams and everyday users, reliable bridges between Web2 and Web3 financial services are still missing.

Building real-world finance with Web3 infrastructure

Zebec Network was created in 2021 to address that gap. What started as a streaming payments protocol on Solana has since grown into a full-service payments and infrastructure network focused on real-world finance.

With $35 million in backing from names like Circle, Coinbase and Solana Ventures, Zebec enables real-time payroll, cross-border remittances and onchain financial tools for both crypto-native and traditional businesses. Its ecosystem includes apps for early wage access, financial tracking and treasury management.

Zebec’s flagship offering is its real-time payroll system. Instead of waiting for a fixed payday, users receive income instantly, streaming their wages in near real-time. This unlocks flexibility for employers while providing immediate access to earnings for employees — a significant shift for hourly workers and gig-based professionals.

To extend its reach into traditional payroll systems, Zebec created Payroll Growth Partners (PGP), an investment arm that acquires legacy payroll platforms and updates them with Web3 features. The result is services like a payroll app that lets users receive part of their paycheck in USDC (USDC) and will allow them to send it across borders with minimal friction in USDC or other stablecoins or tokens.

With acquisitions of PayBridge and School Payroll Services (SPS), Zebec is building a premier payroll service for the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and educators and school administrators across more than a hundred schools nationwide in the United States.

Crypto wallets acquire spending power

Complementing its payroll services, Zebec’s Instant Card product and Telegram App offer global on- and off-ramps for digital assets. Available in over 100 countries, users can spend crypto as fiat via Mastercard network with no transaction fees and custodial risk using the Zebec Cards.

Zebec’s reach expanded further with its recent acquisition of UK-based Science Card, a mission-driven fintech serving over 50,000 students and researchers across 10 universities, including Cambridge and Aston University.

Focused on simplifying academic research spending through prepaid cards and budgeting tools, Science Card became a part of Zebec’s broader mission: embedding crypto-powered finance into everyday transactions.

“Science Card’s commitment to academic finance aligns perfectly with our mission to make payments seamless and inclusive,” said Simon Babakhani, Zebec’s chief operating officer. Science Card founder Daniel Baeriswyl underscored this alignment, stating:

“Science Card was built to remove financial barriers in academia. With Zebec’s technology, infrastructure and on and off crypto rails, our mission evolves, capable of delivering next-generation payment solutions to campuses worldwide.”

By integrating Science Card with its payroll and debit offerings, Zebec is building what Babakhani calls a “trifecta” of financial empowerment, connected through shared infrastructure.

Laying the rails for a Web3 superapp

As it builds toward a consolidated finance superapp, Zebec is also scaling its technical foundation. In addition, partnerships with Circle, Stellar, AWS and major human capital management (HCM) platforms for startups reinforce Zebec’s enterprise readiness.

Zebec is helping shape a financial infrastructure that allows money to flow fast and serves billions globally. In doing so, it has the potential to set a precedent for how blockchain technology can power practical, human-centered finance at scale.
