Built on Ethereum’s network, 0x came into existence in 2017. A blockchain framework project, the 0x protocol is an open one with which ecosystem builders can work. 0x sees potential for blockchain and tokenization to change the financial world and many of its current processes, adding capabilities through decreasing limitations and parameters present around value transfer and ownership in the traditional world. 0x helps bridge liquidity across decentralized exchanges, or DEXs.
0x has its own ERC-20 asset, the ZRX crypto token. ZRX coin and 0x coin are technically not accurate terms, as the asset runs on Ethereum’s blockchain and is therefore considered a token, not a coin.
